MONROE, La.听鈥 麻花影院 is adding three bachelor鈥檚 degree programs to its catalog beginning in the Fall 2026 semester. The new degrees include a Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Leadership, a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Sciences, and a Bachelor of Science in Disaster Management.听
鈥淥ur responsibility as an institution is to ensure that students in Northeast Louisiana have access to the highest听quality educational opportunities right here in their own region,鈥 said 麻花影院 President Dr. Carrie L. Castille. 鈥淭hese programs are designed to cultivate talent, expand career pathways, and empower students to build a brighter future for themselves and for the communities they call home.鈥听
The new B.A.S. in Organizational Leadership is designed to equip leaders and supervisors with the skills necessary to thrive听in today鈥檚 diverse and听technologically advanced听society. Building upon an Associate of Applied Science degree, the B.A.S. enhances workplace competencies and provides the knowledge needed to move into leadership roles within a flexible 2-year program.听The program offers a choice of five in-demand concentrations tailored to industry needs,听including Communication,听Training and Development,听Computer Systems, Criminal Justice,听and听Management.听
The B.S. in Integrative Sciences is designed to prepare students for careers in today鈥檚 interdisciplinary scientific landscape. The program will equip graduates with the depth of knowledge and adaptability needed for careers in industry, government, and research. Currently available concentration areas include Biomedical Sciences, ideal for careers in healthcare, research, and biotechnology, and Earth System Sciences, which is suited for careers in environmental agencies, meteorology, and sustainability fields.听Additional听concentrations are being created and will be added to the program.听听
The B.S. in Disaster Management is designed to prepare students to develop and implement policies, procedures, and activities that enable communities and institutions to remain prepared, respond effectively, and recover efficiently听in the event of听natural, technological, or human-caused disasters.听The program is referred to as 鈥淒R3鈥 because Disaster Management involves three distinct characteristics:听Readiness, Response, and Recovery.听The College of Business and Social Sciences is hopeful that the program can grow graduates who stay in Louisiana, a state that听has a history of experiencing听natural disasters,听including tornadoes and hurricanes, as well as technological and industrial failures such as chemical and oil spills.听听
鈥淓ach of these new programs has听been tailored to prepare students to make a real-world impact after graduation,鈥 said Dr. Michelle McEacharn, 麻花影院听Provost听and Vice President for Academic Affairs. 鈥淚t is important that we continue to grow and adapt to the needs of today鈥檚 workforce.听We are proud to add these new degree paths that will allow听students the opportunity to use what听they鈥檝e听learned here in Louisiana.鈥澨听
