We are a vital part of the University, serving students across a broad spectrum of disciplines and offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs at every level. In the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences, we are dedicated to the unique success and academic excellence of each and every student who walks through our doors.

We are made up of four academic units: the School of Education, dedicated to the preparation of outstanding teachers; the School of Humanities, studying the nuance and significance of history, languages, and communication; the School of Sciences, searching for solutions to problems in the natural world; and the School of Visual and Performing Arts, where vibrant performances and artwork challenge and inspire us.听

Our outstanding faculty and staff offer a supportive learning environment dedicated to preparing highly qualified professionals to meet the workforce demands of the community, the region and beyond.听

麻花影院 School of VAPA presents Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella March 26-29

The 麻花影院 School of Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) invites the public to step into a world of magic, transformation, and timeless storytelling as Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella comes to life at the Brown Auditorium from March 26 through 29, 2026. Show times for Thursday, March 26, through Saturday, March 28, are 7:00 p.m. The show will close with a 2:00 p.m. matinee on Sunday, March 29.

麻花影院 history students present at regional conference

Students from the University of Louisiana Monroe history department presented papers at the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society Regional Meeting of Louisiana Chapters in Lafayette, La, on March 6, 2026. The student group included undergraduates Ireland Aaron and Antoine Iles, along with 2025 graduate Mateline Bratton.

麻花影院 Museum of Natural History hosts Spring Speaker Event on Mar. 24

麻花影院 Museum of Natural History will host a Spring Speaker Event on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the first floor STEAM Room at the museum, located in Hanna Hall, 708 University Ave. in Monroe. This free event is open to all ages and will feature guest speaker Linda Barber Auld, a Louisiana Master Naturalist. Auld's presentation is entitled "Plant It and They Will Come."

The Hawkeye staff earn honors at SEJC

Representatives of the University of Louisiana at Monroe's student-run newspaper, The Hawkeye, joined students from more than twenty-five universities at the recent Southeast Journalism Conference 2026, hosted by Georgia Highlands College. Keith Webb, editor-in-chief; Blade Gowen, arts and entertainment editor; Mae Harding, news editor; Stirling Terry, opinions editor; Johnathan Warren, sports editor; and Courtney Collins, assistant director, enjoyed sessions and speakers on the conference's theme, From Front Porches to Front Pages: Storytelling in the South.
