Practicum and Internship Site Supervisors

This page has been developed to provide training in Counseling Supervision and inform you about expectations and requirements for 麻花影院 Supervisory Internship Experiences.
听
All students enrolled in Practicum or Internship must be supervised by an appropriately credentialed site supervisor. requirements state that site supervisors for counseling interns must meet the following qualifications.
听

Clinical Mental Health Counseling

If you are supervising a Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) student, you will:
  • Hold at least a master鈥檚 degree in counseling or a related field.
  • Hold active certifications and/or licenses in the geographic location where the student is placed, preferably in counseling or related profession.
  • Have a minimum of two years post master鈥檚 professional experience relevant clinical mental health counseling
  • If you鈥檒l be supervising students who are providing telehealth services, you will also:
  • Have documented training in telehealth (e.g., certificates, coursework, or credentials).
  • Have at least one year of experience providing telehealth services.

School Counseling

If you are supervising a School Counseling student, you will:
  • Hold a master鈥檚 degree in counseling or a related field.
  • Hold a valid School Counseling Certificate in the in the geographic location where the student is placed
  • Have a minimum of two years post master鈥檚 experience as a practicing school counselor.
  • Be currently working as a school counselor in a school setting.

Supervisors from Related Professions

While our program prioritizes supervision by licensed professional counselors, we recognize that highly qualified professionals from related disciplines鈥攕uch as social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, and school psychology鈥攎ay also be appropriate site supervisors when their experience and training align with the goals of our counseling program and CACREP standards.

Below we provide resources for site supervisors. First, all potential site supervisors must review a 50-minute pre-recorded PowerPoint lecture on the foundations of supervision. We also include a link to the ACA Code of Ethics for supervision for review.
听
Second, the Site Supervisor Orientation Manual is provided below for all site supervisors to read. Please review this manual before beginning supervision. You will be prompted to sign-off on your understanding of the contents of this manual in your initial supervision paperwork prior to beginning in supervision.
听

To support our site supervisors, we鈥檝e created a dedicated Canvas course titled听麻花影院 Site Supervisors Training Center. This resource hub includes current student and supervisor handbooks, course syllabi, faculty contact information, Tevera tutorials, evaluation guidance, required forms, and our Practicum & Internship Policies. At the start of each semester, site supervisors will receive an email invitation to join the course. Please register within 24 hours of receiving your invitation.
